Excuse the terrible photo, but this fruit sushi is an awesome dish for birthday parties, and interestingly was the first thing to disappear at my daughters first birthday celebration recently..and there was plenty to choose from…so it definitely warrants an inclusion 🙂 It’s also safe for most people as its dairy, egg, nut and gluten free. It has kiwifruit inside, but if that is a problem, you could substitute all sorts of other fruit like berries.
Having talked to a bunch of allergy Mums lately, it seems that one of the things people need help with most is how to make a birthday party special for a child with one or more allergies..whether its their own party or attending someone else’s. It is absolutely horrible seeing your child excluded because of their allergies….but it doesn’t have to be that way!
I’m feeling so guilty writing this post about this scrummy Dairy and Egg Free Almond Cake as I decided in my fantastic wisdom to let my 3 year old trial some of the almonds that are on the top of this cake. There is a bit of a story to it..sorry if you really just wanted the recipe!
Despite being a terrible artist and having a strong dislike for getting my hands dirty…I absolutely love doing messy play with my children. There is just something about the look of pure joy on their wee faces as they experiment with different textures and mediums. And all three daughters come at painting from different perspectives, and the psychologist (in training) in me loves watching their wee personalities manifested in their play.
