Melt-in-the-mouth Sticky Pork DF EF can also be GF

My kids all love pork strips but they can be a bit tough to eat if you forget about them for more than a few seconds!  So for my two that can eat soy, I make a cheats Asian marinade that makes them so moist…it’s also super easy as you can just put them in the oven for an hour and forget about them 🙂

1 teabag

500ml boiling water

1 T honey

2T hoisin sauce (if you are making this gluten free, check this!  The one I used had wheat in it…you can also leave this out without it making too much difference )

3T soy sauce (use GF soy sauce if needed)

4 cloves garlic, crushed

1 t grated fresh ginger

Soak the teabag in the water for 5 minutes.  Add all the other ingredients and stir until the honey is melted.  Sit however many pork strips you want (if you are doing more than 4, you may want to increase the amount of liquid by doubling or halving again the recipe) in the liquid in an ovenproof dish.  Bake at 170 degrees turning the pork strips every 20 minutes until the liquid is nearly evaporated and has formed a very sticky sauce.  I serve it with rice, carrot ribbons and broccoli roasted in garlic and olive oil.

I gave the the wee strip with the bones attached to my 10 month old, Annie-Rose and she chewed it to death!  She seemed pretty impressed:)
